Family owned and operated site development firm with over 35 years of experience in earthworks and underground utilities in the private and public sectorsWe are growing our team in the fairfax, va area and are hiring a human resources manager for our firmIn this role, you will partner with the business unites to support all levels of managementYou will also consult with employees and managers on a wide range of hr solutions, including but not limited to employee relations, leave, conflict resolution, performance management, workforce planning, implementation of policies and procedures and employee training, etc.
Schedule:
Monday thru friday (8am-5pm) or (9am-6pm)
**remote work opportunity after 90 days of employmentRemote schedule will include 3 weekdays in office (8a-5p or 9a-6p) and 2 weekdays can be performed remotelyThis will be implemented after 90 days of employment.**

Responsibilities:
· assist company managers with preparing job offers, compensation plans, job descriptions etc.
· new employee orientations and/or training.
· review all paperwork filled out by employees.
· manage and assist in completion of employee reviews.
· assist managers and employers with performance and discipline issues as needed.
· assist with training new staff in the various software and processes.
· provide a training guideline for the teams that are hiring and or training their own staff.
· order background checks and drug screening for each employee.
· manages company’s insurance programs and 401(k).
· manage all claims and injuries ensuring that the paperwork is complete, and claims are filed timely with approval from the president and then followed up on to assist the employ with proper communication and support.
· oversee and manage company safety program
· track injuries and make sure the osha logs are managed, accurate and posted according to california state osha requirements.
· oversee that the company is following our safety program including regularly scheduled safety meetings and required subjects
· manage and oversee any required programs and processes required by local government or fire departments
Requirements:
· 2 years+ human resources experience
· strong knowledge in virginia labor law for the above responsibilities required.
· proven strong time management and organizational skills.
· must exercise discretion and maintain high level of confidentiality.
· great attention to detail.
· ba/bs in business or human resources or equivalent work experience.
· bilingual is a plus.
