Job responsibilities
We are seeking an associate general counsel or senior legal counsel at a10 networksBay area candidates preferred, but qualified remote candidates will be consideredWe also provide flexible work schedules and telecommuting as neededThe successful candidate will be a generalist reporting to the evp, legal and corporate collaborationThe position requires an experienced and skilled individual who possesses well-rounded legal acumen, a high-level of professionalism, and a positive and flexible attitudeTo be truly successful, the candidate must enjoy undertaking a broad range of legal responsibilities and be capable of serving multiple constituencies with a mature combination of poise and attention to the interests of a10 networks.
Desired skills & experience
The successful candidate will possess excellent academic credentials, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the following qualifications and experience:
15+ years or 12+ years of experience with a j.dOf combined law firm and in-house legal practice, including experience practicing with a first-rate law firm and in-house with a technology company;
The ability to serve as a trusted business advisor as well as legal counselor and effectively balance business goals with legal risk;
Drafting and negotiating software/technology licensing;
Drafting and negotiating sophisticated reseller and channel sales agreements;
Drafting commercial contracts and templates and serving as lead negotiator for complex transactions with service provider and enterprise customers;
Some familiarity with corporate matters and securities law filings preferred;
Ip experience with an emphasis on software and strategic ip portfolio management;
Patent and trademark prosecution experience;
Litigation management capability;
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
High levels of integrity, honesty and maturity.
