Your responsibilities
Perform and support engineering activities and related analyses associated with major field projects and provide technical advice to customers and field engineers
Responsible for providing pre and post technical support influencing regional sales activities that includes the utility sales force and the industrial sales force, oem sales force, sales reps and distributors
Coordinate or recommend repairs or other means to achieve resolution and prevent recurrence
Represent the company in negotiating agreements, logistics and business issues while promoting and maintaining good customer relations and protecting the company`s interests
Develop customer contacts and, in conjunction with other support groups, establish strategies for obtaining new business and meeting financial objectives
Work closely with utility, industrial, consulting, system integrators and oem engineers to specify relay and automation products
Conduct customer training seminars to help customer teams in the application and the operation of the products and services
Participate in the specification of new products in conjunction with internal abb product management by the application of firsthand knowledge of competitive products and customer preferences
Travel to customers to provide technical support on distribution automation and at times integration projects (dnp, modbus, and iec 61850)
Plan, conduct or coordinate engineering analyses and tests, and prepare related summary reports
Your background
Bachelor`s degree in engineering, (electrical engineering, power system preferred) is required with minimum 5-7 years of experience in technical product and marketing support
Must have some medium voltage protection and control relay or applications experience and experience with medium voltage power distribution system operation and equipment, with knowledge in protection & automation
Ability to exercise considerable creativity in developing and implementing approaches tailored to individual customers, based on knowledge of customer requirements
Experience analyzing market and competitive trends and products, with capability to recommend action plans leading to new abb electrifications product and solution sales is required
Experience working directly with customers, consultants and channel partners required with ability to clearly and persuasively explain the technical merits of assigned products, creating customer confidence in abb’s products and solutions
Must be able to travel up to 40-50%, post covid 19 pandemic
Preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of abb zenon package, envisage, ac500
Abb relion relay integration experience
Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for abb in united states
