This position offers an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a company that has been recently founded, but well established within the building industryThe job will provide valuable experience in multiple engineering disciplines and training for professional certifications, including the professional engineering (pe) license.
Plumbing/sprinkler design engineer
Duties:
· develop calculations of plumbing distribution systems, including preliminary water, gas, sanitary/sewer, and storm loads.
· develop calculations of sprinkler distribution systems.
· survey field conditions as necessary to determine required action within scope for various projects.
· prepare plumbing and sprinkler plans and specifications in compliance with all applicable nyc codes; coordinate with various members of the project team (internally and externally) as required to complete design.
· attend meetings with client and various members of the project team.
· review construction administration work, including but not limited to: shop drawings, submittals, rfis, change orders, as-builtsAttend site throughout construction phase and prepare reports (i.e punch lists) as required to verify field conditions are in conformance with design.
Job requirements:
Three to five years’ experience in plumbing/sprinkler engineering designBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with strong communication and technical skills (proficiency in cad a must).
Knowledge of nfpa 13, national fuel gas code, nyc plumbing & building codes, and nyc filing requirements & procedures.
Fundamentals of engineering (fe) and engineer in training (eit) designations are preferred, but not mandatory, as is professional engineer (pe).
