Job overview:
Aptim is seeking a geologist or environmental scientist on a full-time basis located in the cleveland, oh area to participate in environmental compliance research, site investigations, and remedial actionsPrimary responsibilities will include research of environmental regulations and preparation of permit applications and other project documentsOther duties may include installation and monitoring of groundwater, surface water and soil gas monitoring systems, collection of surficial and subsurface soil samples for environmental and geotechnical purposes, participation in the design and implementation of both in-situ and ex-situ remedial actions.
Key responsibilities/accountabilities:
Research of federal, state, and local regulatory codes
Prepare documents and applications for submittal to regulatory agencies.
Ability to collect and evaluate of soil, bedrock, groundwater, and air samples
Executing various work scopes, maintain project schedules, and budgetary goals
Work independently or as part of a project team and be able to adjust to changing site conditions
Time management to ensure a quality product is prepared to meet project deadlines
Uses best practices and knowledge to improve products or services in own discipline
Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor`s degree in geology/environmental science, or related degree required
2-3 years of experience with environmental regulatory compliance
Able to work remotely
Must have strong written and oral communication skills
Valid driver`s license
Desired/preferred qualifications:
Current hazwoper certification desired
