The role
At the heart of affinity, you’ll find a number of foundational infrastructure and operational challenges involved in building, running, and evolving our data-driven, processing-intensive productIn this role, you`ll join our infrastructure engineering team, which is responsible for driving performance, scalability, reliability, and developer efficiency at affinityYou`ll play a critical part in enabling and supporting our product, infrastructure, and engineering team to grow to the next level of scale and quality.
What you`ll be doing
Implement changes to enable or improve infrastructure resilience, monitoring, and alerting
Delivering reliable operations for web-scale infrastructure for a global market at high release velocity.
Manage cloud infrastructure, focusing on reliability, availability, scalability, and cost
Proactively monitor infrastructure and application components
Ensure availability and uptime
Incident management and problem management
Software and hardware upgrades
Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
Perform and automate operational tasks
Qualifications
Required:
You have 2-4 years of industry experience managing cloud infrastructure
You have experience writing infrastructure as a code and love replacing manual infrastructure work with automated systems and tools.
Strong experience in incident and problem management.
You`ve enabled high availability through mitigating single points of failure, creating effective monitoring and alerting systems, and more
Knowledgeable in linux administration
Have experience in managing kubernetes clusters in production environments.
Experience using infrastructure as code software (terraform, ansible, cloudformation).
Experience supporting ci/cd pipelines
Experience with monitoring applications and cloud infrastructure using datadog, aws cloudwatch, or equivalent
You`re excited to work collaboratively within engineering and across functional teams
You’re eager to contribute your ideas and experiences to help affinity continuously improve as a product and as a company
Nice to have:
Experience troubleshooting code written in ruby
Experience troubleshooting and tuning relational (postgres) and non-relational data stores
Experience with aws
