The junior backend engineer will join an existing team of engineering and product talentYou’ll collaborate closely with our engineering leadership to grow as an engineer, gain experience, and develop technical expertiseYou’ll get to know us, our business, the needs of our users, internally and externally, and we’ll get to know you and help integrate you into the team and companyAlphaflow is a high growth fintech startup working in the real estate debt marketOur technology vision is to provide technology to disrupt this industry and automate many manual processes in the industryWe build software that helps both our b-b partners and investors as well as internal software to better manage our business productsWe do this through building web software and integrations with a variety of third parties, as well as using modern technologies to automate or simplify existing workflowsIn order to be successful in this role you are consistently described as collaborative, a leader, great communicator, both verbally and in writing, and you deliver high quality code daily and lead by exampleYou don’t shy away from presenting, whether to leadership or at our weekly all-handsYou’re always looking for ways to improve and you understand that getting involved with the product discovery process is key to your success, and alphaflow’sDeliverables you`ll be measured on:
Design, implement, test, and deploy backend services with high slas
Contribute to technical decisions for our backend apis
Effectively write and present technical design documents
Actively contribute high quality code on a daily basis
Work with peers on the engineering team, reviewing code and helping others improve
Skills and experience that will help set you up for success in this role:
Building and consuming restful apis
Working within small teams & in fast moving environments
Server-side programming languages (e.gGo, python, java, c++)
Familiarity with relational databases and sql
Clear, concise and persuasive communication style that motivates and enables action
Attention to detail, written/oral, analytical skills, and organizational practices
At least 1 year professional experience/internships with the above content
Nice to haves:
Experience with go
Previous startup experience
Familiarity with web software frameworks (ex gobuffalo / rails / django)
