We are looking for an application engineer...
You will work in a team with application and design engineers, also working closely with the sales organization, engineering, customers and suppliersWork includes customer meetings with distributors as well as with oem customersYou will develop a deep technical knowledge of the company`s products and act as a technical support within thomsonYour main task is to assist customers and our sales team to choose the right product from our broad product portfolioIf no standard product fits, your creativity will help find a customized solution based on the customer`s needs and specifications.

Essential duties and responsibilities
Generate quotations for non-standard or modified product
Provide training to internal and external customers
Decisions on what product to recommend
Decisions to escalate when product is not available
Determine Apply Now pricing guidelines and modifiers
Ability to correctly apply thomson products across all product lines
Position requires 5-10% travel
Expected outcomes
Quotes are provided in a timely and accurate manner (3 days or less)
Net promoter scores are greater than 50
Delighted customer willing to buy again
Customer has reliable and accurate technical information
Products are appropriate for the application and applied in a safe manner

Job requirements
Education and experience requirements
4-year degree (bs) in engineering
3 years required experience
Excellent customer interface and communication skills
Ability to perform design calculations
Ability to work well in fast paced stressful situations
Knowledge of device communication protocols
Ability to understand complex drawings
Ability to facilitate a technical discussion with internal and external customers
Ability to solve moderately complex problems
Ability to do remote or in person troubleshooting of customer applications
