Summary of the role:
Are you the next senior software quality assurance engineer we are looking for?
You will have proven ability in understanding complex systems and software and their interactions at a system level with demonstrated ability to decompose these systems into small independent units of work that can be developed, tested and released, providing incremental architectural and business value.
You will understand user and partner interactions with the system and software to ensure a great user experience.
You will work on all aspects of the development cycle as part of a dedicated scrum team ensuring the quality output of the team meets the organizations expectations by continuously identifying ways to improve quality and efficiency.
In this role you’ll:
Participate in daily scrums, iteration planning, iteration reviews and retrospectives
Understand complex systems and software with the skill to decompose these systems into small workable units of work that meets the needs of product owners and provides the necessary business value.
Understand how users or partners interact with the system and software, translate business requirements into user interactions, provide feedback to the ux team to ensure a great user experience.
Be an active participant and lead the acceptance test driven development process
Be responsible for adherence to quality standards and best practices across your scrum teamProvide direction to the team in test case definition, development and analysis.
Identify areas of risk by analyzing requirements, design patterns, acceptance criteria, source code, software deployments, etc.
Identify key metrics that can be used to improve the quality output of the team
Analyze and report key quality metrics including escaped defects, customer escalations, etcMake recommendations to improve test coverage and product quality which will ultimately improve the quality metrics.
Identify data driven testing patterns that the team can use to improve test coverage and product quality
Be a contributor in the software deployments, fully understanding the development and release process.
Work with other departments in the organization to identify quality concerns
Always adhere to the lean agile principles
Participate in coding and designing activities as required by the team
Participate in the code reviews, validation and acceptance of work items
Possess excellent coding standards, with an emphasis on quality and performance
About the ideal candidate:
Education: bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, or related field
Relevant work experience:
6-9 years of experience working in a software development environment
Experience working with large complex systems including service-oriented architectures
Experience identifying how users or partners interact with the system and software
Understanding and implementation of software measurement, metrics and analytical techniques
Significant experience with acceptance test driven development
Development experience including automated testing and frameworks
Proficient coding experience with c#
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexible and adaptable in meeting the changing needs of the business
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an agile development environment
