Full job description
Core responsibilities
Maintain open source tools like ape, brownie and vyper
Identify and create features that improve smart contract development
Create tooling that improvements smart contract code efficiency and security
Work closely with web3 developers to resolve bugs and submit patches
Champion new web3 standards for developer tooling
Profile tooling for efficiency improvements and working with data at scale
Mentor other engineers, both on the team and promising new projects
*minimum qualifications
Professional experience with python, especially in a backend engineering, security or data science setting
Experience collaborating with others in an open source setting, using github/gitlab
Knowledge of core cryptography primitives, such as public key crypto and hash functions
Knowledge of networking primitives, such as json-rpc and pubsub
Preferred qualifications
Experience with pytest/hypothesis
Experience with juypter/numpy/scipy
Experience with sql/graphql
Experience with django/flask
Knowledge of web3 ecosystem, projects, and tools
Knowledge of cryptography standards and best practices
Smart contract development experience in solidity and/or vyper
Experience with running blockchain node software, such as geth or ipfs
Programming language design
Experience mentoring other engineers on project design and process
Intense distaste for javascript (we’re kidding! or are we…?)
