Arbor is seeking a highly motivated patent attorney to join our legal team to help bring arbor’s gene editing technology and product programs to patientsThe attorney in this position will partner the legal team with the business development and r&d teams to execute a variety of transactions, such as draft/manage arbor’s ip and technology, support collaborations, and, while working closely with other arbor teams (finance, operations, leadership)We are looking for a critical thinker who can develop and implement creative solutions, appropriately analyze and manage risks, multitask, and communicate wellMost importantly, we seek a team member who wants to be fully integrated into every aspect of the company from research to business execution.
Key responsibilities:
Hands-on drafting and prosecuting of exciting, cutting edge technologies
Strategically align intellectual property with arbor’s existing and forward reaching research programs
Leveraging your and others talents for creative solutions in leading edge innovations
Strengthening arbor by educating internal clients, including senior management and members of research & development and business development teams, on ip and benefits/risks
Challenging yourself and our team to seek new growth opportunities
Embracing and practicing arbor’s values in your work and as a representative of arbor
Being an integral part of bringing world class gene editing technologies to all patients with genetic disease
Preferred qualifications:
??advanced degree (masters or ph.d.) in biological sciences (molecular/cellular biology or equivalent life science)
Uspto registration
Jd with ma state bar (or attainable within 1 year)
5-10 years experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications with a law firm or corporation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to operate with candid transparency, professionalism, strong emotional intelligence, and the highest degree of integrity
