The application engineer maintains and expands market knowledge and increases contacts with customers through field travel and by attending relevant tradeshows, symposiums, and conferencesThe application engineer reports to the regional sales enablement manager and works directly with each of the members of the internal and external sales organization
In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:
Identify key projects:
Perform project searches
Qualify projects using a variety of criteria
Interact with all functional areas of armstrong, customers, industry specialists, industry organizations, and representatives of armstrong in the industry.
Develop project selections:
Determine which products to offer
Size and select appropriate products utilizing internal software
Develop and implement a standard proposal
Winning strategy:
Complete market coverage
Engage channel
Ensure a competitive edge in the market
Key deliverables for the application engineer are profitable sales and profitable growth.
Application and training support:
Support the development of product and application training materials and tools
Participate in internal and external training programs
Roles requirements

Bachelor of science degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical or electrical)
General understanding of fluid dynamics and pumping
Strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to think clearly and logically, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and define technical requirementsIs highly analytical and understands how to visualize and present complex data.
Ability to establish objectives, handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and drive results
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to learn new programs (business software)
Have an interest in the hvac market
Strong leadership capabilities required
Desire to develop and improve processes
Regional travel required, estimated 15% to 30%
Some international travel (canada), must have or obtain a valid passport
