Job summary:
As a devops engineer on the engineering team, you will own all aspects of the devops lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of our saas platform for our enterprise clientsYou will work closely with engineering leadership on the scaling of the devops environment and will be part of an agile team working with other engineers, testers, architects and product owners to build world-class enterprise software using modern tools and techniques in the cloud.
Responsibilities:
Participate in technical planning and requirements gathering phases including; writing/modifying user stories, designing solutions based on requirements, developing test plans, and creating technical documentation.
Develop application and infrastructure deployment solutions based on requirements.
Deliver high-quality code by participating in code reviews and deployment simulations to ensure all acceptance criteria are met.
Ensure that technical software development process is followed and drive continuous improvement through thoughtful feedback and ideas.
Use target process to track and manage all work through the development life cycle.
Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience level (virtually and/or in-person).
Remain current in state-of-the-art software frameworks and programming methods and continually hone your craft.
Identify root cause of technical problems and implement change to reduce or prevent future problems.
Participate in problem analysis and program fixes to production problems.
May interface with internal & external clients to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
Requirements:
Bs in computer science, it or related discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years’ experience in enterprise-grade software development environment.
Familiarity with software development in java/c#, javascript, json, sql.
Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as powershell, python, or bash
Experience with ansible and docker.
Experience with windows operating system environments
Exceptional troubleshooting skills to identify root cause of complex issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional qualifications:
Experience with cloud platforms such as amazon web services (aws) is a plus.
Experience monitoring highly distributed systems using tools such as the elastic stack.
Experience with openstack
Experience with vmware.
Experience with linux operating system environments
