Aviasales is the biggest travel metasearch company in russia, and third worldwideOur monthly audience on all the platforms exceeds 15 million usersAll of them travel from time to time, but not everyone can plan trips carefullyWe take care of this and help our customers prepare for their journey by finding a neighborhood in which to stay, choose the best points of interest, and locate choice instagram-spots.
Our russian speaking team is successfully dealing with our international business, so now we’re looking for an english creator and editor to help us expand into english speaking marketsThe successful applicant will be a skilful writer who can not only translate literally, but adapt text for an english speaking audience and write great travel content.
What you will do:
Translate travel content for english-speaking audiences using local jokes, memes, and cultural knowledge that corresponds to aviasales tone of voice and values.
Collect information about cities with the local ambassadors, check the facts that they provide, and condense a page of information into one tweet.
Proofread and edit texts translated from russian to english: correct spelling or punctuation mistakes, verify word usage and terminology.
Maintain project documentation in english.
Interact with other departments on language-related questions.
What we expect from you:
A native english or bilingual english speaker with excellent knowledge of russian.
Experience in journalism, copywriting, linguistics or localization, with a good understanding of the linguistic specifics and cultural distinctions.
Relevant education (linguistics, communications) will be an added advantage.
Ability to phrase thoughts as concisely as possible (that wasn’t a joke about the tweet!).
A love for travel and trip planning.
