Summary:
The merchandising buyer is a key role for the bsn purchasing teamThis role supports the merchandise managers and planning division through inventory analysis, data interpretation, inventory movements, and strategies to meet or exceed sales, gross margin and inventory goalsThis role will focus on ensuring stocked product is in the right place, at the right timeThe merchandising buyer will work cross functionally with key internal business partners including merchandising managers, product managers, planners warehouse, sales, and other key areas impacted by the decisions made within inventory management.
Key responsibilities:
Collaborates with internal partners to support product strategies and vision to identify business opportunities
Responsible for the analysis, data interpretation and helping to develop solutions / action plans
Create and maintain purchase orders and track the flow of merchandise from vendor to distribution centers
Manage reporting of core product availability issues and inventory positions
Prioritize workloads, maintains a strong attention to detail and work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Support and prepare for weekly/ monthly/ quarterly cross-functional reviews
Job requirements:
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
Results oriented
Strong communication skills
Highly organized
Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
Strong story-telling ability to synthesize data and strategies into conclusions and recommendations
Requires a self-motivated, self-directed person capable of managing project expectations and optimizing business processes.
Qualifications:
2+ years in supply chain with purchase order fulfillment
Technical skill proficiency with microsoft excel and sap
