Hands-on leader with deep technical skills while also being an exceptional strategic thinker.
Deep architectural and engineering experience and therefore the legitimacy to help influence the organization by sharing what the future can be.
This role will oversee an architecture organization offering guidance, strategy, and technical solutions
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a robust and achievable roadmap that transitions the legacy technology ecosystem to target destination state
Partner with product, software engineering and infrastructure leadership to architect best-in-class solutions that meet the needs of the businesses, customers, clients and other stakeholders
Design reusable frameworks and curate modularized components to help accelerate the time to market for new business capabilities that can be leveraged across multiple business lines
Provide thought leadership to the enterprise on key industry and technology trends, staying current on new and emerging trends while also evaluating their applicability to bhsf’s strategy
Develop and promote architecture best practices and guidelines and establish software development frameworks, code quality standards and sponsor code improvement initiatives
Manage technical debt and advocate with product and engineering for its retirement
Engage with technical and business stakeholders to understand business needs, articulate the architectural vision, and guide product and engineering teams in defining solutions
Owns development and implementation of architecture principles and technology standards across the enterprise; ensuring architecture alignment across domains.
Ensures architecture approaches are consistent and developed based on domain roadmaps, architecture patterns and enterprise platforms.
Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes.
Builds and maintains employee morale and motivation.
Ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies
Fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:
Required skills
Master ’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
Minimum 12 years of experience in it management, leading cross functional teams.
Solid understanding of object-oriented design.
Solid understanding of architectural design patterns and domain driven design.
Recognized technology and architecture leader with proven track record of delivering software engineering initiatives at scale and cross technology/business initiatives with a focus on consumer facing applications
Define, architect, and build high-quality software solutions while evangelizing technologies, solutions, and best practices.
Experience working with developers and testers in an agile environment, guiding the development process and suggesting solutions for implementation.
Experience and understanding of multiple technical domains - application, data, integration, cloud, big data, ai/ml, mobility, analytics, etc.
Intrinsically curious and passionate about researching the current and emerging technologies and developing innovative solutions
Extensive experience in modern software architecture , cloud platforms, rest & other api concepts, design patterns (e.g: micro-services and 12-factor applications), messaging, service security, availability, reliability, scalability, and maintainability models
Highly experienced in product development (software development, system and application architecture for both on-prem and cloud environments)
Domain expertise, including hands-on experience, with the full range of cloud services from one or more public cloud providers (aws, microsoft azure, google cloud platform)
Experience with cerner and ehr systems a plus
