Full job description
We have an exciting opportunity for an intermediate tester to join our teamAn intermediate tester will typically review the requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria etcAnd will identify the test scenarios and design manual test cases and execute manual and automated scriptsThe intermediate tester works with agile teams and test manager to test the front end, backend and apis.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinates all manual testing activities during each testing phase
Identifies improvements to the process and assists in their implementation.
Ensures that any risks associated with the agreed test strategy and the system/functional/regression test plan are clearly documented
Takes responsibility for all phases of testing activities.
Designs manual test plans, test scenarios, test scripts.
Executes manual test scripts and automated scripts
Preparing reusable test data for every test scenario irrespective of environment
Works closely with business analysts, developers and automation test engineers
Helps test automation engineers in identifying the good candidates for test automation and provides documentation required by test automation engineers
Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects
Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content.
Monitor bug resolution efforts and tracs progress and status.
Creating bdd [behavior driven development] test cases using cucumber feature files and gherkin
Able to understand the test automation scripts and provide peer reviews
Peer reviewing manual and automated test scripts
Under limited supervision, carries out the day-to-day activities
Contribute to story point estimates based on level of effort
Review, verify and evaluate the test results
Review and analyze the stories for any ambiguity, better clarity, completeness, testability, acceptance criteria definition
Required experience/skills:
Minimum 3 years of software testing experience through a full system development life cycle, including implementing test plans, test cases
Minimum 3 years in creating and analyzing test data and test results
Minimum 3 years specialized experience in quality assurance
Minimum 3 years performing functional, integration, system, and regression software testing in an agile scrum environment
Minimum 3 years documenting test results for corrective actions, reports, and audits
Knowledge of development software, such as vbscript, gherkin, cucumber, basic java, xml etc.
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as test rail or microfocus alm
Experience in using github/bitbucket
Experience working as part of an agile scrum team.
Experience with issue tracking, collaboration, and documentation tools (e.gJira and confluence)
Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills.
Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
Candidate must be a us citizen or a permanent resident
Desired experience/skills:
Prior experience in working with the centers for medicare and medicaid services (cms) is a plus
Understanding of shift left testing approach
Knowledge of tools such as microfocus uft, selenium
Experience in testing mainframe based applications
Education: a bachelor’s degree is desired
Background check: this position requires successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and a credit check.
