Our hfc field applications engineer will work with our team to support field sales initiatives, product development and research & development activitiesBased on customer engagement, detailed trade/industry studies and requirements analysis, our engineers develop modern solutions to satisfy current system requirements as well as future challenges and functions.
Responsibilities
Support sales staff with technical applications in all areas of hfc architecture and applications
Support engineering staff with the application of new product lines and customer feedback
Support product line managers with knowledge of the allstrategic product lines to assist sales staff and drive revenue growth
Inform customers of available solutions to their network needs within the ppc product line
Put together and develop a product portfolio based that changes with thenetwork and market technology
Provide support in the field to customers and technicians as needed
Advises and consults within internal business units, customers, and industry representatives concerning business opportunities and potential problems which may impact on the company#s business
Addresses product related issues that may require critical decisions on product disposition or potential field action
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Skills & experience
Bachelor`s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in hfc (hybrid fiber coaxial) networks
Strong knowledge of fiber optic networks including pon, fftx,and dwdm active and passives
Strong knowledge of rf networks
Ability to clearly articulate all parts of the hfc architecture to the customer
Advanced knowledge of installation / troubleshooting both inside and outside hfc plants
Demonstrated technical skills in telecommunications networks with a focus in fiber optic communications
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
Ability to convey technical concepts in an easily understood manner; both verbal and written
Strong mechanical aptitude and creative ability; self-motivated; ability to work under general supervision; good technical writing skills
Strong customer relationship skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Effective and energetic problem-solver with strong technical aptitude with ability to think strategically and creatively
Self-motivated and a driven individual
Ability to travel up to 75%
