Our engineering team is small, yet ubiquitousWe are responsible for building a robust custom platform that enables customers to fully plan their final chapterThis includes an online purchasing experience, customer-facing end of life planning tools, a forest management system, a variety of internal tools that power our sales and operations teams and a robust data platformIt takes best practices from consumer and enterprise and applies them to an industry that’s traditionally been underserved by technology.
In this role you will enhance the data platform to democratize data to enable the company to take data driven decisions at all levels.
Impact
Help significantly expand our data footprint over the next yearCreate data pipelines and tooling to manage this growth.
Create robust analytics/tracking capabilities so that we take data driven decisions.
Technology is a core competency for better place forests - you will help us take it to the next level.
You will
Be responsible for architecting and implementing very large scale data intelligence solutions using snowflake and matillion.
Be analyzing raw data, developing and maintaining datasets, improving data quality and efficiency.
Be working directly with business stakeholders to come up with the data solutions.
Be thinking critically about which problems to solve and how to set ourselves up for long-term success.
Java script and ui development experience is a plus
Looker development (lookml) is a plus
Technologies we use (and teach) - our data stack:
Snowflake, matillion, tray.io, postgres, salesforce, husbpot, aws (s3, cloudflare, redshift)
You have
Minimum 5 years of designing and implementing a fully operational production grade large scale data solution in any data warehouse2+ years on snowflake data warehouse.
Minimum 2 years of strong working knowledge of etl software (matillion is preferred but can be some other tool as well).
Experience working with different apis and javascript
Nice to have: experience in traffic analysis and attribution
Ability to make architecture decisions that are thoughtfulYour assumptions are always well tested.
