The vp of operations will provide leadership, vision, and talent management to ensure that boxiecat develops the world-class processes and culture necessary to deliver financial results and ensure company and product growthThis position will provide guidance, development, and direction to departments leadsThe vp of operations will be a driver of change and continuous improvement within the organizationThis role requires a high level of ownership over assigned functions and will report directly to the company founder.
Requirements
Oversee all aspects of operations, including product development, marketing, sales, operations, customer service, finance, human resources, legal, etc.
Partner with founder and team to define and prioritize long range strategic and people goals, recommend next steps and delegate/ensure follow up as needed.
Partner on developing and executing against plans for achieving goalsEnsuring linkage between strategy, operational plans, projects, and key metricsAssist with goal definition, alignment, and deployment.
Drive staff growth through effective recruitment and day to day team management.
Financial oversight of the company, including accounts payable & receivable, p&l, cashflow, budgeting processes, long term financial planning and relevant financial reporting.
Track projects, deliverables, critical issues, and action items; follow up to ensure completion to scheduleEnsure cross-organizational alignment of key portfolio decisions within and across functional groups.
Oversee product production and operations and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Run forward-looking agenda and ensure that preparation and follow up takes place to ensure staff meetings are actionable and decision oriented.
Drive communications on behalf of the founder around operational plans, key initiatives, and other activities that drive performance and engagement of the team.
Evaluate the efficiency of business procedures and come up with new workflows as well as improvements.
Revise and create policies and lead their implementation.
Build and maintain a high-performance team-based culture through effective performance management, career development, communication and coaching of staff.
Evaluate overall performance of boxiecat departments and functions by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics.
Identify and implement technology systems to aid with business efficiencies- including technology review and selection, team trainings on systems, and developing tech and communication workflows.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 10+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in functional management/supervisory roles (cross-functional management experience a plus.)
5+ years of experience in retail environment, pet retail product experience preferred.
Experience in leadership; succession pipeline development; employee engagement; and strategic (3-5 year) planning.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills and capable of supporting and driving cross-functional plans and goals.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
