Based in the flatiron district in nyc, brainpop is used in over 40% of us elementary and middle schools and welcomes millions of monthly site visitors.
We’re seeking a legal ops & contract specialist to join our legal teamYou will play a critical role in providing legal support to the brainpop group, in the areas of contracts, intellectual property, legal compliance policies, employment, and more.
A day in the life
Drafting agreements and negotiating contracts of various business transactions, including data privacy agreements, licensing agreements, strategic partnership agreements, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, vendor agreements, reseller agreements, responding to rfps and more.
Ensuring compliance with coppa, ferpa and other privacy protection laws and education laws, updating the privacy policies and assisting in developing internal compliance policies.
Overseeing registration of new ip, maintaining the existing ip registrations, monitoring infringement of ip by third parties.
Assist legal team with various operational matters and other projects as requested
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, sales ops, customer support and other departments throughout the organization
You are
Detail-oriented
Self-disciplined, organized and ambitious
An excellent verbal and written communicator
On your resume
J.dDegree required
Admission to practice law or pending admission in at least one us jurisdiction (ny - preferred);
1+ years of legal experience (in-house experience - preferred).
Effective negotiation, communication and drafting skills.
