Full job description
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and ambitious problem solver who is excited to manage all maintenance requests of injection molds while keeping downtime to a minimum among several manufacturing facilities in north americaThis role would start with a single facility based in the detroit area, but as the other facilities open, travel will be expected to canada and mexico.

This role will act as the primary client-facing point-of-contact for the injection molding manufacturerMany maintenance calls will be able to be supported remotely from home, but when necessary last minute travel may be expected if a machine is creating a bottleneck for production.

The ideal candidate for this role will work with little or no supervision when given clear direction, but will know they have the full support of our team when neededYou will work with a us and china-based team (if needed) to troubleshoot issues and to repair, fix, and implement engineering changes of moldsYou are familiar with industry standards of safety, and are a champion a safe work environment.

Preferred experience:
5 years plus of hands on experience in a tool room involving plastic injection mold repair or mold maintenance
5 plus years of experience using hand operated tool room equipment
Characteristics of ideal candidate:
Knowledge and understanding of mold and die components and their respective characteristics.
Ability to read and understand tooling drawings.
Injection molding process experience
Toolmaker / mold maker journeyman certification
Preferred education:
High school diploma,
2-year apprentice program at a community college is helpful or toolmaker/ mold maker journeyman certification preferred
Valid passport is a must, with 6 months til expiration
Willing to travel up to 10% of the time with little notice
Mandarin and/or spanish proficiency is a plus, but not required
