The vp of data engineering leads and manages cadent’s data engineering teamsYou will provide both strategic and tactical leadership for the team, as well as be responsible for driving the architecture and engineering that drives business value and customer success.
You will assess the organization`s data architecture, analytic methods, tool selection, development strategy and data engineering roadmapYour work will revolve around understanding complex business models, large and complex data manipulation, and building resilient data architecturesThe position includes management of commitments to and relationships with technical and business stakeholders within cadentThis role requires proven practical experience as a data scientist, who is able to verbalize the story of our data in business terms.
What you will do:
Lead and manage teams of engineers building the solutions, infrastructure and foundations that enable our product teams to deliver leading solutions
Lead our data engineering strategy, from vision to execution
Lead multi-functional efforts across cadent to enable multiple verticals that leverage cadent’s data architecture
Achieve architectural excellence by mentoring and empowering the data engineering teams to complete the ambitious vision set up for the overall team
Foster innovation, trust and excellence both within your organization and across cadent
Identify business value through key performance indicators for viable data engineering products by interfacing with stakeholders from across the business
Work closely with the engineering and product leadership, and operations teams to develop and integrate data architectures into cadent’s array of product lines
Distill the needs of our product teams into precise data engineering problem statements, define the scope of data-driven solutions that enhance cadent`s competitive edge, and drive incorporation of these solutions into product.
Be responsible for leading the design of data engineering architecture and associated products
Assist in the planning of agile sprints to align team with team goals
Manage the integration of data engineering with other teams (engineering, business intelligence, operational support).
Build and maintain cadent’s reputation in data engineering through relevant conference attendance, guest speaking, and other outlets
Estimate the life-cycle timelines of projects to properly set deadlines
Translate results to stakeholders in plain, business-centric language to set expectations and drive adoption
About you:
You have an advanced degree in computer science, or related technical field
You are a hands on technical leader
Proven successful experience with modern development and deployment practices, e.gAws / gcp stacks, docker, kubernetes, apache spark, databricks, cloudera, and restful paradigm for apis
Practical experience in enterprise software development lifecycles, including agile methodologies.
Experience providing leadership, mentorship and management to a team of engineers
Proven ability to prioritize and track multiple projects in parallel
Strong analytical and quantitative problem solving ability
You have experience in a cross functional engineering environment
Excellent presentation and communication skills—visual and verbal
