Do you want to oversee some of the most exciting events that happen in austin and across texas?! from sxsw, austin startup week, to nationally recognized conferences - you will be at the heart of all that is happening at capital factoryAs the venue and events manager, you will oversee all venue space and events that take place at capital factory austin, houston, and dallas and onlineYou manage a team that includes event coordinators, pt front desk event staff, and assistants.
Requirements
What you will do…
Manage the full life cycle of an event, from billing to execution of both in person and virtual events
Manage the approval process for client events, venue rentals and various internal events include all our large cornerstone events (fed supernova, launch events, sxsw, austin startup week)
Manage the event strategy for our houston, austin, dallas and san antonio
Manage and train a dynamic team across texas
Manage our meetup community to make sure the right people are hosting events in our space
Own the communication between our virtual platform vendors and stay up to date on the newest virtual options
Lead the charge on virtual and in person events
Grow our venue and events client relationships, main point of contact for all external event request
Our internal liaison between our external venues, event organizers and physical space
You work closely with the marketing team to ensure all events are promoted, setup, communicated to appropriate audiences
You collect and analyze post event data

Our dallas team is supported, and growing their events calendar with your guidance

About you…
You have 4+ years experience in event and venue management
You have managed a team before and are a confident leader
You are outgoing and can talk to just about anyone.
You are a documentorYou make lists and spreadsheets.
You are a problem solverYou look for ways to make things work better and how to turn chaos into systems.
You are organized and plan ahead, but you don’t get stressed out when things change at the last minute… because they willYou roll with it.
You are available to work at least 45 hours per week.
You check your email in the evenings and are available to work during evening events and over the weekends when there is a tight deadlineYou do what it takes to get the job done.
You plan to stay in texas and commit to this position for 2 years.
