Full job description
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate retail, office and ground lease transactionsThis position requires excellent writing, organizational and communication skillsFamiliarity with surveys, recorded easements, declarations and similar recorded encumbrances is helpfulCandidate must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work independentlyStrong client service skills requiredBachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate preferredThis opportunity requires experience and the ability to work with minimal trainingThis is a full-time position, with opportunities for flexible schedule and the possibility of remote or hybrid work.
The successful candidate will work directly with clients, tenants, and other members of the legal team under the supervision of the vp & assistant general counsel - commercial leasing.
Primary responsibilities include:
Drafting commercial (primarily retail) leases, lease modification agreements, assignments, license agreements, lease terminations and related lease documentation.
Drafting franchisor addenda, landlord lien subordination agreements, estoppels, snda`s and memoranda of leases.
Drafting correspondence to tenants regarding lease issues (i.e., verification of square footage, mailing address for payments).
Reviewing and analyzing leases in connection with property management issues, cam reconciliations, exclusive use provisions, etc., and drafting clear and concise correspondence and memoranda analyzing specific lease issues.
Updating lease forms and drafting summaries of tenant exclusives.
