Cloud data architect
Cirium is looking for a data architect to join their portland, or team and bridge business and technology interests in bringing all of the company’s data assets into a structured, well-organized, and governed data platformThis can be a hybrid or remote position.
You will collaborate with technology teams with deep subject matter expertise, data engineers, data scientists, and data product managers to ensure cirium can maximize the value and usability of its data within a modern platform.
You will be guided by a lot of existing work in this area but will have the opportunity to bring new ideas to the tableYour main goals will be:
Providing thought leadership around data integration, interoperability, and data architecture in evaluating and designing data systems
Modeling to ensure that data is represented accurately for both storage and consumption while optimizing for usability, performance, and scalability
Required skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems , or similar or equivalent experience
Expert-level experience in data engineering or analysis; at least 1 year of experience with big data architecture
Excellent people skills, including the ability to collaborate with product engineers, executives, and domain experts
Data modeling expertise, including the following styles: relational, event/log structured, graph, document; and an understanding of the benefits and drawbacks of each
Experience design ing scalable systems with low-latency and high-throughput qualities, and knowing when to trade one for the other
Strong written and diagramming skills
Results-driven leadership with a demonstrated ability to think strategically and tactically
Desired skills
Experience in designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems leveraging cloud computing technologies
Proficiency with the aws data processing ecosystem
Experience designing data pipelines and etl
Experience and understanding of the challenges involved in working with complex and multi-faceted problem domains
Familiarity with data science tooling and ml
Knowledge of data, master data and metadata related standards, processes and technology
