Job description
Coffman engineers is seeking an entry level bridge engineer for employment in one of our washington/oregon offices with the opportunity to support our spokane, olympia, seattle, burlington, and portland officesOur primary marketplace is washington, oregon and idaho with other potential opportunities across the united statesThe successful candidate will be a self-motivated, energetic team player who is looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm.
The successful candidate for this position will assist in managing, designing, and detailing bridge projects of a variety of size and complexityThe candidate will have the ability to network with clients of a diverse culture of private, local, state and federal agencies.
Qualifications
A bsce degree with emphasis in bridge/structural engineeringMsce preferred with emphasis in bridge/structural engineering.
Preferred licensed eit
Internship in the structural design of bridges and/or buildings and similar structures (preferred)
Successful completion of the following structural/bridge engineering course work (preferred): bridge design, prestressed design, reinforced concrete design, steel design, prestressed design, reinforced concrete design, steel design, structural dynamics or earthquake engineering, foundation design, timber design.
Experience with aashto bridge design specifications and any department of transportation (wsdot, idt or odot) bridge design, bridge standard details, bridge design manuals or construction standards and protocols (preferred)
Experience with computer analysis software systems including autocad, pgsuper, risa 3d, mathcad, and bluebeam revu (preferred)
Experience working as part of a multi-discipline design team (preferred)
Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and eager to learn
