Job description:
Responsible for preparing and presenting mechanical design concepts and engineering calculations at design reviews
* create manufacturing assembly drawings using nx and engineering bills of materials preparation.
* works closely with operations manufacturing and production engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacturing & assembly (dfm / dfa)
Material selection cots component selection taking into consideration obsolescence availability and cost.
* participate in vendor and internal meetings
* responsible for sustenance of internal devices and high level prototypes.
* involve in design development and minor updates of internal devices.
* the candidate must be able to understand customer requirements and possess the ability to convert them into user stories and estimates.
* work with the product managers and end users to define & document product and feature functionality and requirements.
* work closely with qa software and product engineers to create, maintain and evolve test plans and automation to drive testing.
* actively participate in issue triage / troubleshooting and clearly document processes used.
* ensure effective communications with peers and management.
* comfortable in one or more scripting languages to build automation.
* must be able to work independently or in small or large teams with minimal supervision.
* strong background in designing or extending existing test frameworks.
* excellent debugging skills & experience troubleshooting.
* excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* understanding of and experience with the full product development lifecycle including functional and technical specifications product use cases user stories implementation qa processes deployment and maintenance.
* thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while confidently driving multiple projects across many teams.

Candidate needs to live in the new york city, ny metro area.
Will need to work onsite 2-3 days each week-
1Experienced in mechanical engineering.
2Experienced in nx/solidworks.
3Experience in working 3d printing & cad conversion projects
