Think of the software that is so fundamental to the way people work that they could not imagine doing their job without itSketch and adobe for designers; jira for engineers; powerpoint for biz opsAs a senior frontend engineer, you will help us redefine the way millions of americans are selling and providing services to buildings in the us - think janitorial, fire life safety, elevators, hvacYou’ll be an early hire working closely with the founding team and early employees to establish the frontend architecture for years to comeBeautiful software makes the complex simpleOur product, atlas, abstracts the maddening complexity of commercial property data and each of our customer’s bespoke workflows to a product with gmail like simplicity – the only product of its kind in the marketWe are based in, and love, the seven square miles of san francisco, but our customers are in every corner of americaWe have shipped an impressive amount of product with a lean team, but now we have to scale to meet the demands of our customer base which is growing in both size and sophisticationThat is why we need youThe product our flagship product, atlas, is a “consumer grade enterprise product.” think apple experience with oracle utilityAtlas supercharges our users’ work by providing them with information on virtually every commercial property in the countryThere is literally no other data source like this available anywhereAll that data is interesting, but it isn’t powerful unless you have the ability to work with it, which is why we are building a full suite of specialized software tools on top of itThe role we’re looking for a talented senior frontend engineer to grow our team working across our web and desktop productsAs a senior frontend engineer, you will be responsible for: owning core, complex components of the atlas application drive and deliver on our product roadmap, working alongside our head of design, chief product officer, and product manager to turn ideas into features find elegant solutions to usability problems provide leadership and mentorship to other engineers on the team ramp on new web technologies that will make atlas better everyone has their own preferences, but we all share responsibility for and work on the entire platform from ui to databaseEvery commercial property means gargantuan data sets, which in turn means high performance and architecture demands on the software you buildWe operate in small teams of high performers with clear product goalsWe use swift, ruby, postgres, postgis, google maps, aws, angular, and python among othersRequirements
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related subject
5-7+ years of professional frontend engineering experience working on external facing applications
3+ years of experience with a frontend framework such as react/redux, angular, or vue
Expert knowledge of javascript.
Strong experience with http, html, css, and web security concepts.
Experience using javascript typing languages / linters (typescript, eslint).
Comfortable using the unix command line
A selfless and team oriented personality, proactive tendencies, excellent communication skills
A strong work ethic, and the experience or desire to work at a growth stage startup
The desire to improve yourself and be a positive influence on those around you
An instinctive drive to write quality code, the humility to understand and improve existing code, and the wisdom to make tradeoffs between elegance and efficiency without sacrificing product quality
