Applications engineer (medical)-remote opportunity
Responsible for maximizing the number of technical commercial engagements with customers in both pre- and post-sale supportEngagements may include the co-development and early design input to maximize coorstek’ s position for new part types, design for manufacturing (dfm) activities, product revisions and design interactions, application of new materials and processes for article manufacture and expansion of production to other coorstek locationsDevelopment of deep relationships with the customers product design community is key to being productive in this roleSuccess is defined by the number of engagements with a customer and the amount of business development opportunities converted into ongoing, profitable revenue streamsThis role is both internal and externally facing and a foundational part of growing customer and market revenueThe applications engineer may be assigned to one strategic customer or to global coverage of multiple customers.

Roles & responsibilities:
Promote coorstek’ s technical capabilities to new or existing/assigned customers.
Develop relationships with customer product design teams.
Coordinate activities with the account manager(s).
Work closely with strategic technologists, operation and engineering teams to manage engagements, and identify new opportunities.
Work with strategic marketing/insights to drive an increased understanding of the competitive landscape, customers’ needs and markets.
Identifies, develops, and promotes coorstek’ s value proposition for opportunities, customers and markets.
With some support, leads all aspects of creating quotes on new and/or existing programs and products within sfdc
The applications engineer may engage in unexpected or urgent production challenges.
Collaborates with operations and the customer to identify and initiate cost reduction programs.
Understand potential opportunities, future market significance, and alignment with global trends.
Develops and maintains wide breadth of knowledge surrounding technology/solution offerings and partners with the commercial and strategic material teams to bring capability/capacity awareness to identified regions, verticals, customers and products.
Look for both disruptive threats and opportunities, helping to develop strategies to counter threats and capitalize on opportunities.
Participation in stage gate and business management team activities
Performs other duties as assigned.
Accountable to the commercial leader for the applicable market or customer.
Job requirements:
Education:
Minimum: bachelor’s degree in related engineering or material science field
Experience:
Minimum 4 years’ relevant commercial experience
Proficiency in autocad, solid works or pro e preferred
Familiarity with industry manufacturing practices, equipment design or operation
Functional/technical knowledge, skills & abilities:
In depth technical product knowledge as well as strong analytical skills
Ability to influence designers, and senior managers
Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds, exhibit strong interpersonal and organizational skills, great attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
Performs detail-oriented tasks utilizing high language and math skills.

Target hiring range
: $93,336.00 - $123,192.00
