Essential duties
Managing and ensuring successful delivery of assigned medium and large-size projects the meets or exceeds customer expectationsEffectively manage scope, cost, time, risk, quality, communication, and resources within each project managed.
Manage a wide variety projects mostly focusing on cisco infrastructure including networking, data center, security, collaboration, and wirelessProjects may also include microsoft azure cloud, ranging from on-prem to cloud email, applications, and content, migrations, delivery of iaas, paas and saas solutions, and custom application development (cad).
Maximize project revenue through accurate project resource forecasting, containing write offs, and driving change orders.
Ensure optimal collaboration and communication between the project team, company, and customer, within assigned projects, either at customer sites or in a virtual setting.
Apply agile or traditional waterfall methodologies (or a combination of both), depending on the needs of assigned projects.
Employ use of project management tools such as microsoft office, visio, and project, webex, and sharepoint/teams, to manage assigned projects.
Communicate technical and business requirements with consultants, architects, and clients.
Lead and motivate technical (ie: engineers, developers, architects) and business (ie: change management, business analysts, other project managers) stakeholders to do their best.
Remove obstacles hindering project efforts and deliverables, through effective influencing, collaboration and conflict resolution.
Support pre-sales efforts by reviewing and providing feedback on rfps, sows, or proposals, as needed.
Required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, communication, business or other related technical field
5+ years managing it projects
7+ years of related experience in a high-tech environmentPreferred experience with consulting/professional services firm, or creative agency.
Up to 25% travel required
Certification or formal training in project management- pmp and/or agile certification (i.e.: csm, pmi-acp) preferred, and working knowledge of agile methodologies is required.
Great problem solving and analytical/reasoning skills.
Experience managing solution architects, consultants, engineers, and other technical professionals, preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to manage up and across client and internal organization across groups and departments, in a geographically dispersed setting.
The ability and confidence of a self-starter who can learn tools, processes and technologies quickly, connect with team members and project stakeholders effectively to get things done, and lead projects with minimal oversight.
