The software development engineer performs application architecture and design, development and maintenance programming in c/c++, java/j2ee, .net with oracle in unix/windows environmentsPerforms technology tool assessments, and associated tasks for application systems in a client server environment, including integrated software and hardware application configurationsDirects and participates in software/hardware releases and installation tasks utilizing websphere- eclipse/netbeans or similar toolsConversant with the use of source code control tools like cvs/tfs/gitPerforms as an expert technical resource to clients and development staff in all phases of major system and subsystem development, implementation, and post-implementation processesActs as a subject matter expert on it technical and process capabilitiesProvides guidance to staff on complex assignments.
Participates in and may direct the analysis and definition of efficient, cost effective application solutions which support client business processes and functional requirements.
Performs and may direct software coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and installation tasks for on-line and batch processes using c/c++/.net, java/j2ee/websphere & oracle in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards and on aws/cloud environment.
Analyzes business processes in order to define application functional requirements and technical specifications.
Guides, formulates, contributes to, and directs task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities in c/c++, java/j2ee/websphere, oracle & unix.
Participates in and may direct problem definition and problem resolution activities in c/c++,.net, java/j2ee/websphere, oracle in a unix/windows environment.
Coordinates with internal departments to provide associated deliverables required for the successful completion of development and maintenance assignments (e.g., oracle database development, tidal job scheduling, .net network support, help desk orientation, user client implementation readiness, etc.).
Conducts client interviews to perform analysis of client business processes and functional requirementsPrepares appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.
Participates in client, architecture, technology committees and may coordinate client involvement in development and maintenance tasks as needed.
Responsible for knowledge transfer to staffMay review the technical work of staff.
May provide on-call support.
May coordinate on-call response efforts as assigned.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Bs in computer science or equivalent
5+ years of related experience
Experience with c/c++, java/j2ee, .net with oracle in unix/windows environments
Strong analytical and leadership skills.
Great communication skills.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Proven experience in high-level programming languages, like c/c++, java and .net.
Proven experience in software development methodologies.
Proven experience building and fine tuning complex backend engines & web systems.
Ability to multi-task and organize competing priorities.
Strong ooo design, coding and design patterns.
Very strong in c/c++/.net, java/oracle sql.
Highly skilled in performance tuning enterprise scale applications.
Required experience/exposure to cloud platforms like azure and aws.
Strong in devops, automation and testing.
Experience leading junior developers & working with architect teams.
