The crownpeak digital experience, digital quality and digital governance platforms provide end-to-end fully hosted solutions for content & quality management and privacy & governance managementAs a senior systems administrator, you will be in a team bridging the gap between a strong team of developers delivering high-quality software solutions and a large and growing customer baseBy joining the crownpeak committed and experienced cloud operations team, you will champion the advancement of all operational processes in the company and assist in bringing about the goal of fully automated infrastructure and continuous integration including rapid, any-time production deployments.
You will also collaborate with other expert area specialists and our development team to continue finding new areas that can be improved by bringing a devops mind-set to crownpeak productsYou will be able to further your skills in adjacent areas by joining agile teams and working in cross-discipline developments.
As a successful candidate you will possess a high degree of self-management, be able to take ownership and work independently, recommend suitable solutions, be personally accountable for project delivery, have strong business acumen, and have excellent all-round communication skillsTypical projects may include: discussing requirements with the product manager and the developments teams; recommending infrastructure options to deliver the highest level of service; designing and testing a platform on aws; and commissioning production-ready services.
You will be required to interact daily with a highly experienced group of developers ensuring their efforts are carefully directed with your infrastructure in mind and have a clear path to maximizing their developments’ value to the business.
Qualifications & experience
5-7 years of experience in cloud operations.
Strong experience in supporting hosted web applications on windows and linux based technologies (iis, apache,tomcat)
Strong experience in supporting production applications on aws or other similar cloud/virtualization technologies
The ability to support windows- and linux-based systems (2008, 2012, 2016 & ubuntu & alpine)
Scripting and automation experience (powershell, bash, python, nodejs, javascript)
Experienced in monitoring tools, frameworks and processes (nagios, sensu, prometheus)
General experience with relational databases (sql, mysql)
Management of storage, backups, data security, disaster recovery and business continuity
Experience architecting highly available, fault tolerant and secure infrastructure
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
A demonstrative, team-playing attitude
Preferred:
A familiarization of agile process methodologies
Exposure to working in a devops culture
Experienced in full automation and configuration management (ansible, terraform)
Knowledge of container technologies (docker) and platforms (kubernetes, rancher)
Additional knowledge of relational databases or data structure (postgresql, redis)
Experience with apache software projects (solr, nutch, zookeeper)
Experience from a software engineering or development background
Familiarization with git version control & github
