Full job description
The continuous improvement engineer supports global operations by fostering a continuous improvement culture and leading the use of continuous improvement methodologiesA successful candidate will effectively lead projects which result in improved operational efficiencies and cost savings.
Promotes a lean cultureLeads and executes lean projects through all stages to completion (a3/charter creation, team composition, process mapping, workflow management, ideation and execution)
Monitors outcomes of projects (control phase) using spc and other analytical methods.
Designs manufacturing and business processes to optimize productivity
Lead kaizen events producing tangible performance improvements.
Lead on-line process observation exercises, often cross functionally (e.gGemba)
Collects and analyzes operational dataIndependently identifies process improvementsDevelops an effective and timely solution to process issues.
Works with operations stakeholders to understand business needs
Implements recommended changes (revising procedures, specifications, training programs, quality plans, etc.) through the corporate change control process.
Provides expertise to assist cross functional purchasing and budgeting activities
Understands business financial metrics as they relate to performance and baseline operations.
Performs what-if analysis to identify, plan and prioritize projects.
Provides guidance to peers by facilitating lean project formulation and execution.
Maintains advanced competency in a range of business excellence methods including lean, qms standards and inventory planning.
Participate in special operations integrations projects as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of relevant industry experienceCombination of industry experience and advanced education will be considered.
Lean six sigma or other relevant certifications preferred.
Travel 10-20%
