The quantitative research associate will work as part of a dynamic team overseeing survey research projects in more than 100 countries around the worldYou will engage in all parts of the survey process, from instrument testing to fieldwork oversight to data cleaning and reporting.
Location: at dcg, many of our team members including this role are remoteWith over 100 employees based in 19 states (and counting!), dcg is committed to hiring talented employees across the united statesThe selected candidate will work during dcg’s core eastern standard time business hours.
You will:
Conduct rigorous checks of survey instruments prior to beginning fieldwork, including checking of scripts on different technological platforms, often in unfamiliar languages.
With training and support, provide standard guidance and support to international fieldwork partners on interviewer training and any concerns that arise.
Monitor data collection both during and after fieldwork to ensure data is high quality.
Upon receipt of post-fieldwork datasets, conduct an initial review and quality control of the data based on the standards set by the team, cleaning data to ensure consistency.
Where needed and when interest is expressed, assist team in data analysis, reporting, and client communication.
Qualifications/skills
Zero (0) to two (2) years of relevant professional experience, especially communications campaigns and/or government programs with polling and evaluation components.
Comfort with data and processes for data cleaning using excel, spss, stata, and/or r and willingness to learn others, as needed.
Demonstrated experience with survey research processes and, ideally, fieldwork logistics like training and oversight.
Interest in research methodology and learning new applied research skills.
Interest in international and security issues.
Preferred: experience working in multi-cultural environments or with partners in other countries
Preferred: language skills other than english
Work style
The utmost attention to detail and organization skills, including careful time-management and the ability to independently multi-task.
Comfortable and confident in reaching out to teammates for frequent communication about questions and updates on project status.
Ability to professionally and patiently communicate (in english) with a diverse array of international fieldwork partners, including on the topics of survey research standards and data
Excitement about working in a team environment in which multiple people contribute to one overall project goal.
