Bring your passionBuild the futureDoes the idea of finding sustainable solutions that benefit human nutrition and health resonate? we seek a lead scientist with early life nutrition experience to lead the global nutrition science & advocacy (nsa) efforts for the eln segment of our business, which includes infants, young children, children and maternal nutrition and healthThe lead scientist develops scientific substantiation for the nutritional suitability and health benefits of dsm ingredients and solutions, and advocates for science-based value propositions related to early life nutritionThere is a strong focus on nutritional lipids, human milk oligosaccharides (hmo) and micronutrientsIt’s a role with a deep science focus and a dynamic job – are you ready for something new?

You’ll be responsible to:
Lead global nutrition science & advocacy (nsa) activities related to the eln segment
Collaborate with global and regional marketing & business teams, regional nsa colleagues, and other key internal stakeholders (r&d, innovation, regulatory) to set strategy and help drive the eln business
Develop scientific substantiation for messaging and claims using an evidence grading approach
Create and implement communication and advocacy strategies and materials to enhance awareness of the health benefits of dsm ingredients and solutions in the eln segment
Develop relationships with thought leaders and collaborators in the academic, non-profit, and corporate sectors

This position is included in the hybrid working model at dsm, where you will be in the office part time and work from your home in nj/ny metro area the balance of the weekYou need to be a commutable distance to the parsippany office.

What we like to see in your experience:
Phd in nutrition science or related area
Strong scientific expertise in early life nutrition, with emphasis on nutritional lipids, hmos, micronutrients, and other functional ingredientsExpertise in general nutrition, biochemistry, experimental design, statistics.
Minimum of 7 years of experience including leadership and science advocacy, primarily within the early life/infant nutrition industry
Ability to analyze, interpret and leverage scientific evidence in human nutrition to support benefit messaging and achieve business goalsFamiliarity with evidence grading frameworks for messaging substantiation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional scientific writing ability
Willingness to travel, including internationally
