Qa automation engineer (jobid-8546)
Duration- 18 months
Position’s contributions to work group
Qa engineer will be a member of newly formed qa team under client`s digital platform groupQa engineer will work with multiple development and test teams as well as product and program management teams.
Primary goal is to help organization is to improve quality of products released to customers while helping to build quality focus through entire sdlcQa engineer will work on multiple new development programs that span across multiple technologiesPerson in this role will work closely with other team members to identify, gaps and opportunities to improve quality and defect resolution lifecyclesQa engineer will have an opportunity to identify high impact issues, drive them to resolution, perform root cause analysis, and assist leadership to make right decision through data and quantitative decision makingQa engineer should posses imagination, creativity, and critical thinking to identify, define, and implement right kpis and metricsPerforming certain testing activities may be required to understand problems and learn the system as a wholeQa engineer will help design processes, procedures, and methodologies to reduce number of existing defects and reduce total number of defects createdClosely work with pmo to ensure that every program has standard artifacts, dashboards, and processes as defined by qa processes and proceduresAbility to translate business requirements into technical will be very beneficialAbility to lead cross-functional teams to resolve high-impact and high visibility issues will benefit this role greatly, and opportunity to strengthen leadership is presentedVery strong communication skills and ability to build long lasting relationships are required for this roleAbility to summarize data points into understandable data sets is a mustStrong analytical skills and data mining skills would be preferredKnowledge of sdlc, agile, and test methodologies would be preferred.
Knowledge of aws, ado, power bi, and excel (advanced) is desiredPrior experience working with large teams developing platforms would be a plus.
Knowledge of java, python, javascript, and sql would be a plusKnowledge of statistics and modeling would be beneficial.
Typical day
Qa engineer would have opportunity to interact with multiple development and test teams as well as business teamsDisciplined approach and balance between short-term and long-term activities would be requiredQa engineer will participate and sometimes lead meetings that involve different levels of engineers, managers, and senior leadersEnsuring that data is collected by tools and metrics are updated on a regular basis will be part of a daily activitiesDiscovering spikes in certain areas and defect clusters through different analytical techniques Analyzing data and providing status reports for weekly platform meetings will be also part of this roleDeveloping recommendations and/or actions based on data analysisFollowing up with team members to ensure that activities are completed in a timely manner will be part of a regular routineInteractions with development and application teams that are working on applications hosted on a platform.
Education requirements:
Bachelor’s degree requiredQuality related, aws, database, and other technical certifications would be a plus
