Job description:
The devops engineer will be responsible for developing dealeron’s continuous integration pipeline and public / private cloud infrastructureThis is a mid-level position, located in the headquarters office (rockville, md).
Essential functions:
Assist with technical analysis and participate in activities such as architecture improvements, recommending process improvements, and conducting tool evaluations
Generate implementation and integration plans through project lifecycle
Interface closely with our it/development departments to continuously monitor the status of our systems, respond to issues in a timely manner and to meet targets
Work with the devops and development teams to ensure all solutions are scale-able, robust and logically thought-out
Develop automation and processes for our technology teams to better deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor our applications
Troubleshoot issues ranging from system resources to application stack traces
Required skills/experience:
Bachelor’s degree
2+ years of relevant professional experience
Background in configuration of iis web servers and proxy-based routing (varnish / nginx)
Professional experience with version control systems such as git, and deployment tools such as teamcity
Professional experience in powershell, bash, and other scripting languages
Solid experience with sql
Preferred skills/experience:
5 years’ experience
Knowledge of windows based systems including hardware, software and .net applications
Experience with containerization and orchestration for container services (docker, kubernetes)
Develop effective cloud infrastructure, enforce good architectural principles, provide technical oversight, and ensure security best practices are implemented and followed
Develop infrastructure as code on azure using best practices and implementations across all environments from dev to production
Familiar with web services testing (soap ui, wcf)
Experience with linux environments (rhel and debian-based), redis, and nginx
Experience with basic virtualization concepts and vmware architecture.
Solid understanding of agile scrum methodology, kanban, scrumban etc.
Experience testing large web-based and service-oriented applications
Experience with/solid understanding of continuous integration/deployment concepts
Understanding of performance testing
