Description of duties:
The delaware department of justice is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated individual to join the investor protection unit in the fraud & consumer protection division in the new castle county office as a casual/seasonal deputy attorney general (“dag”).
This deputy attorney general will be part of the team responsible for enforcing the provisions of the delaware securities act (6 del.c.ch.73), which regulates the offer and sale of securities and the activities of investment professionals in the state of delawareThe unit investigates and prosecutes (administratively, civilly, and criminally) violations of the act and administers provisions of the act relating to the registration and licensing of securities and investment professionals.
This is a challenging position that provides an opportunity to pursue large and complex investigations and cases against some of the best attorneys in the countryThis deputy attorney general should be able to work independently and meet deadlinesSolid academic achievement, relevant work experience, and a familiarity with securities transactions and financial services is preferredWe seek an individual with a strong commitment to working in the public interest.
