The role
As a senior software engineer, you’ll act as a leader on the engineering team and will use your expertise to support and guide othersYou will be influential in the technical direction of the dispatch platform as we continue to grow, and will be a source of ideas on how to improve the platform overall.
We believe that product development is more fun when deploying early and often, splitting up work into bite-sized chunks and getting feedback from real users as quickly as possibleWe also believe that a single engineer should be empowered to develop a feature from start to finish, and that the technology stack should be simple enough to make that realisticTo that end, new team members ship code all the way to production within their first week on the job.
This is a full-time exempt role (computer employee exemption) that reports to the director of engineering.
What you’ll do
Execute all job duties in alignment with dispatch’s core values, mission, and purpose
Act ethically, with integrity and comply with legal standards to deliver an environment that promotes respect, innovation, and creativity

Design and build high-quality features that meet business objectives with a focus on usability
Provide mentorship and development to other members of the engineering team
Lead code reviews to keep the team aligned around the features being developed
Champion best practices
Deploy projects to production frequently and monitor the results to ensure quality
Actively solicit feedback from teammates and customers to improve the usability of product features
Work with the product team to recommend ways to improve our product
Perform other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of your responsibilities)

What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
5+ years experience building and supporting web applications in a full-stack capacity
Expertise with ruby on rails or javascript/react, and an interest in getting your hands dirty on both backend and frontend
Experience with react native, ios, android, elasticsearch, google maps apis are a plus
