Location: this person can work from home - but should live within a 100-150 mile radius of central, njThis would include new york city, philadelphia, allentown, and into connecticut.
Job overview:
This role will oversee 8 small manufacturing facilities located in the northeast us (one in canada as well)The accountabilities for this role will range from process engineering and reliability to project initiatives, safety improvements, and auditing/complianceThe role reports to the vp of operations and reporting to this role will be 8 plant managers as well as a handful of other personnel.
The position itself will involve about 30-50% travel, regularly visiting the eight facilities and working with the plant managers at each of their sites doing a combination of tactical work as well as strategic planningTactical work could be working with corporate project teams to plan and execute large improvement projects or planning and executing site turnaroundsMore strategic work would involve budget planning, preparing for union negotiations (a couple of the facilities are union facilities), or rolling around corporate-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum requirements:
B.sDegree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering
At least 5 years of management experience with some previous multi-site management required
Industry-wise, candidates can be out of chemicals, industrial gases or petrochemicals; must have experience working in psm-regulated manufacturing environments
Potential candidates for this role should have a solid background in process and continuous improvement, ideally with a six-sigma certification
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time (sometimes via car, sometimes via air)
