Summary
The software engineer will support the existing deployments of manufacturing systems and interfaces to analytical and business systemsThis position is focused on plant control systems, software, and network solutions for our manufacturing locations in the usThe incumbent will focus on the design, development, and support of the manufacturing systems used in gafThis position will require an understanding of both manufacturing operations as well as business systemsThe individual will be required to collaborate across functions and departments and various layers of management in the organization to implement solutions.
The software engineer will facilitate the data required for many systems to help assist with troubleshooting, making runtime decisions, complex analyses, and many other applicationsThe software engineer is tasked with providing production data streams to braincube for analysis and live displays, and supporting plants to utilize these aids and required data extracts by the software engineerThis position would reside within the operations technology group and will work directly with other members of ot, it, and plant personnel.
Essential duties
The software engineer will focus on the following ongoing projects, supporting an existing software engineer:
Braincube live in 20+ sites
Braincube iiot platform in michigan city and ennis shingle
Braincube iiot platform rollouts for future 24 sites
Korber (formerly high jump) – 1 site and growing
Kofax – multiple sites and growing
Wms/arcplan/production data integrations 2 sites and growing
Quantum leap – 2 sites and growing
Winspc – all sites production & quality data
Mes – production data extractions for 13 sites and growing
The software engineer will also focus on the management of:
Quality lab instrumentation for all sites: both hardware and software obsolescence for all sites instron, colorimeter, thwing albert (tensile tester), etcWinspc – all sites software, servers and clients ot infrastructure site upgrades – specifically sql upgrades required as we do server and os upgrades, ops network implementation and iiot platform rolloutMaximo support applications for sites with one off applications (jerimo ran at several sites, barcode printers for storerooms, etc.)
Requirements
A successful candidate for this position would possess the following skills:
Proficient with microsoft sql server proficient with ssrs (sql server reporting services), ssis (sql server integration services), .net, asp, javascript intermediate experience (servers, firewalls, switches, diagnostics), exposure to: wonderware mes, winspc, enterprise resource systems (peoplesoft, maximo) enterprise software architecture and development strong communication skills at both the engineering as well as the executive levelsExcellent time/ priority management skills as the position will need to support multiple business units with competing goals and objectivesSelf-starter, able to proactively seek out improvements in existing systems ability to communicate with plant operations for required upgrades and migrations in technology ability to work as a team player within a high energy team in a fast paced environment bs or ba degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field3-5 years experience in an industrialized environmentExperience with cloud platforms and pub/sub data flow.
Travel / location
This position will require 50% travelCandidates can work remotely, but should live near a major or regional airport and have access to adequate internet service.
