What you`ll get to do
Work in an agile development environment, constantly shipping and iterating.
Ensure proper configuration management of our tableau server environment, in the cloud.
Partner with our data product managers who are responsible for gathering requirements, and ensuring we deliver robust and highly performant data visualization solutions.
Monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues and enhancementsPartner with data engineers to ensure the implementation of data products for visualization in tableau are optimized for performance, scalability, and usage.
Work with business teams to manage user and group permissions, workbooks and projects, data sets and database views, data sources, and data connections.
Contribute principally to capacity planning and budgeting activities for tableau services.
Provide tableau incident and problem management support.
Develop and document standards/best practices for development and administration of the tableau platform and tableau objects such as data sets, workbooks, dashboards, and reports.
Work closely with our cybersecurity, data privacy, and information security teams to ensure we maintain a hardened tableau environment.
Partner with data product managers and business teams to help create a tableau community, develop education programs, and help ensure genesys gets the most out of their investment in tableau.
Work with the analytics data lab to evaluate new tools, technologies, and/or releases in the data visualization domain and make recommendations on how to deploy those to improve our insights practice.
Your experience should include
Bachelor’s degree in cs or related technical field or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in data modeling, data development, and data warehousingIdeal candidates have experience constructing data sets and partnering with data engineers to tune their solutions to be optimal in tableau.
3+ years of tableau administration experience, 5+ years of equivalent systems administration experience desired.
Deep knowledge of tableau server architecture.
Experience in tableau server maintenance, upgrades, and patch deployment.
Thorough experience in the security model of tableau environment and able to connect that to security models of multiple database technologies and tools.
Experience automating tasks like deployment of datasources/workbooks across tableau environment.
Experience creating alerts via scripting.
Proficiency in tableau command line utility performance tuning.
Good understanding of active directory, dns, load balancer and network firewall as they relate to tableau services.
Familiarity with devops, cicd, and automation pipelines.
Tableau certified associate-server certification desired.
Development skills in tableau data analytics and visualization ideal.
