Job purpose
As part of the americas logistics management team, we currently have an open position for a srManager, transport and solutionsThis position is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for transportation within the americasThe incumbent will work together with relevant managers to secure short-, medium and long-term efficiency and profitability of the transport in the americas region.
Actively work in partnership with business partners to positively contribute to excellent sustainable business performance, with focus upon transport, logistics solutions and cost reduction initiatives.
Support business development in defining solutions with a customer centric approach and acting as subject management expert and operational leader for transportation requirements.
Primary job functions
Strategy
Research, analyze, develop, execute americas transportation strategy to optimize cost while meeting customer expectations.
Select, negotiate and manage getinge carriers with annual spend of over $40m Attend business reviews and provide feedback on carrier performance.
Manage transportation team in the americas resulting in improved service level at the best cost for customers.
Oversee and problem solve scheduling of last mile deliveries to meet customer requirements.
Improvement
Procurement of transport services
Review kpi tracking and managing transport compliance and performance in america
Represent managed transportation as lead operational owner to internal and external stakeholders
Resolving recurring transport issues
Create appropriate business development support mechanisms to create solutions and cost/price new business opportunitiesResponsible for change project implementation
Responsible for environmental reporting.
Knowledge/skills/experience:
Bachelor or master degree in the area of logistics/supply chain management or international business administration and/or equivalent years’ experience with similar tasks in an equally complex environment.
10 years’ work experience in transportation.
Additional warehouse experience preferred.
Experienced user of ms excel
Knowledge of bi tools and data reporting tools is of added value
Experience from working with warehousing and transportation at strategic as well as operational level – in an international environment for 10+ years.
Long track record of working with wms- and tms systems as well as control towers
Financial acumen and understanding of business drivers
Able to set direction, priorities and goals; able to secure plans and organization in order to realize and deliver ambitions and results; open and humble in learning for further development
Able to lead change
Leadership- and influential skills
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and to establish and manage own work schedule / weekly activity
