Responsibilities: position summary: this role will support electrical wire harness design and development activities.
Essential duties (this list is not exhaustive and other duties may be assigned):
Engineering wire harness design (concept, specification setting and catia layout creation and negotiation capability).
Conducts design feasibility and cost analysis, part construction, part specification, scheduling and coordinating activities involved in prototyping, fabricating, and manufacturing of assigned wire harnesses and systems.
Analyzes components/parts of the wire harness area to ensure that established layout/quality/cost/performance standards and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded and recommends cost-effective design modifications/improvements that support testing and mass production.
Analyze and resolve problems with moderate level of guidance and direction.
Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
Travel to client sites required.
Qualifications:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3-7 years relevant industry experience or bachelor’s degree and 4+ years relevant industry experience or associate’s degree and 5+ years relevant industry experience.
Education with the following specialties preferred: mechanical, mechanical technology, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing.
Experience using 3-d modeling software tools (catia v5 preferred).
Good understanding of dfm (design for manufacturing) required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in ms office.
