Position summary
The application development manager will oversee and be responsible for full systems development life cycle of the mortgage divisionA sound understanding of process and procedure, combined with a strong sense of urgency are paramountThis role oversees the administrative, engineering, and quality chapters in a scrum-agile environmentThe successful candidate will be responsible for guiding a qa department toward an automated series of tasks, as well as leading a software development team while supporting a large legacy codebase.
Essential job duties & responsibilities
Manages a team of encompass administrators, software engineers, and a quality assurance chapter.
Defines application integration architecture by analyzing information requirements; determining systems architecture, components, and technologies; studying business operations and user-interface requirements; directing development of physical database
Research changes in upcoming versions of encompass and other integrated applications
Confirms architecture capability and flexibility by developing analytical models; completing validation tests; defining key performance metrics
Lead semi-monthly release nights
Prepare proof-of-concepts of architecturally significant uses cases or integrations
Advise on project health, roadblocks, and existing issues
Oversee tier 3 support issues, faults, and bugs
Persuasive with architecture and project goals
Required skills, knowledge & abilities
Strong experience managing multiple roles within a department and agile squad.
Experience with a highly customized los-centric mortgage lender.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a senior software engineer or los administrator
Minimum 2-3 years of administration, configuration, and development experience for all features of encompass los
Experience with the encompass sdk and/or developer connect api’s
Knowledge of throughput planning, scaling, and forecasting workloads
Experience consuming, developing/deploying/testing restful web services and apis
Applied experience with agile development methodologies, scrum experience a plus.
Backup and restore processes
Loan origination systems experience is a must
Experience integrating cots software with custom written components
Experience with salesforce and/or velocify, with working knowledge
Strong mathematical and deductive logic faculties
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lead a team while adapting to dynamic requirements & needs
Experience with promoting continuing training & education among a large team
Applied experience developing solutions that have had to scale due to increased transaction and data volume
Bonus qualifications
Experienced with microsoft sql server 2012 or later
Stored procedures, udf’s, indexing, partitioning via design
Experienced with microsoft visual studio .net 2017 or later
C#, linq, lambdas, threading
Experience with software architecture and oo design
Previous experience with sdk-centric saas environments
A history in coordinating among multiple agile squads
Experience with ellie mae’s lo connect web-based solution
A solid understanding of gherkin for agile stories
Ability to identify differences in stories vs tasks
Sharp organizational skills
Proven experience with data analysis and cause-effect analysis
Experience managing vendor integrations & products, including troubleshooting and testing features prior to production release.
