We have an opportunity for a skilled and experienced technical lead for the identity teamThis can be a u.sRemote opportunity or located in any of our offices to include traverse city, mi; dublin, oh; or ann arbor, mi.
As we grow our enterprise, it is critical to have a stable, secure and easy to use identity platformIt is the platform that our end users and systems interact with to prove to our other teams and their applications that the user is who they say they are! as a tech lead on the identity development team, you will help build up “identity as a product” within the hagerty enterpriseGiven the growth of our company, this role will be a key part of hagerty’s digital transformation storyIt is as strategic as it is tactical, with a global focus on adding value to the organization and our customersYou will drive the product and it’s features through their entire development cycle, often from concept to launch, with a strong focus on details but never losing sight of the big picture.
What you`ll do:
Help the team build end user login experiences that are secure and as frictionless as possible
Migrate our identity platform in a cloud hosting environment that scales on demand
Utilize your experience in breaking apart identity platforms or other applications that are overly coupled
Own the build pipeline and deployment of the identity platform, ensuring good coverage and quality checks are integrated into that pipeline
Own the stability and monitoring of the identity platform as a product that exists for internal teams as well as external users
Utilize your authentication and authorization experience to advise and review other internal team’s technical designs as they integrate with identity to secure their applications and apis
Build tools that allow teams and internal users to self-service the things they need from an identity platform
Help the team break down features into actionable stories
Provide tools and artifacts needed to help educate and communicate, such as sequence diagrams, contract and swagger documents, and poc clients.
Lead and coach the team to do the right things and participate in code reviews
Complete development/testing stories as time allows
This might describe you:
Engineering leader with a strong interest in the intersection of user experience and security
T-shaped skills that include identity server, saml, openid connect, oauth, graphql, rest, aws infrastructure, terraform, typescript, c#, salesforce, nodejs, api gateway, sumologic, split.io, sentry.io, mermaid
Experience driving metrics, monitoring, feedback and alerting
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structuresKnowledgeable of agile software development practices, preferably safe
Bachelor’s degree in computer science field or equivalent work experience
Experience leading teams and/or managing technical people
Insurance knowledge and background a plus
Track record of being a top performer in current and past role
