The transportation operations manager is directly responsible for the day to day operations of the installation transportation effort.
Duties and responsibilities:
Supervise and provide installation transportation support services to jble units, tenant organizations and other dod activities (herein units) in accordance with ar 5-9 area support responsibilities and applicable dod policy and directives.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
The transportation operations manager must also have a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in dod air and ground transportationMust also have a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in the areas of personal property, unit movement, materiel movement, and transportation motor pool operationsMust have the ability to provide information and reports, resolve issues and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to the customersMust have skills in verbal and written communications to conduct meetings, evaluate plans, and prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.
Minimum job requirements:
The transportation operations manager must have at least 10 years of documented supervisory experience in a transportation related field, and a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in dod air and ground transportation.
