Full job description
Location: 19th ave and camelback
Pay rate: $33.42/hr (70k annually)
Hours: m-f, 8-5 pm
* remote opportunities available after in-person training*
The administrative law judge will be responsible for preparation, conducting and reviewing quasi-judicial, administrative hearingsThe decision rendered is a final appealable decision in unemployment insurance, public assistance, and/or tax and labor disputesResponsible for handling appeals in over 35 different programsProviding a fair and impartial due process proceeding, at which most parties are unrepresented by attorneys, which includes, but, is not limited to: taking testimony and evidence, making a complete legal record and ensuring that due process rights are afforded to all partiesPerforming legal analysis, weighing and appraising testimony and evidence to determine operative facts, applying due process and pertinent legal authority, to make a final decisionResponsible for drafting and rendering clear, succinct, thoughtfully reasoned and legally correct written decisions within very short and strictly mandated deadlines- responsible for oral communication, in accordance with ex parte rules to parties, including laypersons, regarding submission of evidence, burden of proof, administrative procedures, appeals process, and other clarifying information, and documenting such communication for the case-record.
Graduation from an accredited law school is required; bar membership (active or inactive) is a bonus.
