Responsibilities:
Analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment of applications in an object oriented environment
Maintenance and support of line of business applications
Provide proper documentation throughout development lifecycle
Follow the development process and steps as outlined and ensure code reuse and efficiency
Troubleshooting and correcting program errors or defects
Properly escalate issues to meet deadlines
Coordination with developers to ensure development tasks are completed per requirements
Coordination with qa testers to ensure end to end unit testing and post production testing
Follow established software development processes and ensure code reuse and efficiency
Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software
Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
2-4 years of hands on java development experience including java/j2ee, jboss, web services, servlets, apache struts, apache axis, maven, xml, html, subversion, sql server and a good understanding of sdlc best practices.
Transaction processing, remote debugging and ldap experience is a plus.
Good communication skills are a must.
Must be results driven and take appropriate steps to achieve goals.
Excellent organizational skills, self administration, attention to detail, multi-tasking, prioritization, critical thinking and analysis, decision making, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal interactions(ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Good understanding of object oriented programming/design principles including abstraction, inheritance, polymorphism and encapsulation.
Experience participating in the full lifecycle of projects, including effective use of version control, build management, unit testing, and issue tracking software (exSvn, maven, jira).
Experience developing web services (exRestful or soap) and strong experience utilizing xml.
Bachelor`s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience.
Experience with various platforms like windows server, linux/unix, etc.
Familiarity with open source application frameworks.
